Today's field trip was a behind the scenes tour of Outback Steakhouse. A little girls' family owns the Outback in Tempe. Cole's class is studying community helpers and occupations. (See previous post for Cole's future job:) Jason and I presented the fab occupations of dance teacher and hunting guide yesterday. It's pretty hard to compete with outback steak, french fries and ranch for lunch though.
We got to go in the fridge and freezer at Outback. Cole really wanted me to photograph him behind the plastic in front of the fridge door.
Cole and Mrs. Standage both answered questions correct and in turn earned a chance to work the french fry cutter. Interesting tidbit...Outback rinses their fries three times after cutting them until the water runs crystal clear, then frys them,lets them cool,and refrigerates them overnight before a second fry the next day!
It was a little crazy with 65 kindergartners and 15 chaperons. Thank goodness for a large kids menu and crayons to keep the kids busy while the food cooked. The menu
thoroughly entertained Cole. He is very proficient at "rainbow coloring" He wanted me to take a picture of him and his alligator for the blog and say...

All in all a fun day spent with Cole. I love you buddy. I
can hardly believe the next fieldtrip with you will be in first grade!

go figure---how do you guys luck out...i had to go to the miserable botanical gardens and you go to OUTBACK, hello something is seriously WRONG!
