Since Jason was spending the new year in Mexico, Mom and I decided to celebrate in Pasadena. For those of us who love parades, the Rose Bowl Parade has got to be one of the best. (Some day i will make it to the Macey's Day Thanksgiving Parade) She has been at the parade for the past two years, I was there the year before last. For those of you who don't know how the parade works let me enlighten you:
If you want a front row seat for your lawn chair you must show up on Colorado Boulevard in the morning of December 31st. Mark your space with chalk.
At noon you may set up your gear on the sidewalk. (Gear can include but not limited to: chairs, sleeping bags, air mattress, table, propane heaters, blankets our list for next year includes 24 items)
People watch, make friends with your neighbors, play games, shop, and eat, until 11:00 pm. At 11 chairs and gear is moved to the blue line marking the front row view in the street. Camp out and sleep all night. Or in our case this year pay your neighbors thirty bucks to move and keep watch over your gear while you go back to the hotel for a good night's sleep.
Watch and wait until 8:00am New Year's Day for the parade to begin. Good times! Good times!

Sydney and Cole really wanted to be part of the parade so we hurried into the street during it for this shot.
